Thank you for your visit and your interest in the Wylie Police Department and the Wylie Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. In 2008 The Wylie Police Department developed of a new program for our citizens, the Wylie Citizens Police Academy. This program was adapted and developed from the few academies already in existence in states across the country.

As class members, we had the opportunity to gain an understanding of the operations of the Wylie Police Department, develop an awareness and appreciation of the various challenges and decisions faced daily by our police officers and participate in practical exercises designed to illustrate various situations an officer experiences while on duty. We received hands on training of what our officers go through each day and gained an appreciation for their service to our city. One of the outcomes of that first graduating class, was the Wylie Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.
